Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Crock, Mechanicsville, were held April 21 in St. Mary's Catholic church, Mechanicsville. The Rev. P. J. Casey offered the requiem mass at 9:30 a.m.

Mrs. Crock died unexpectedly in her home Wednesday evening, April 16. Her husband, Norbert, preceded her in death in 1957.

Edith Leah Cosgriff Crock was born March 6, 1894, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Faye Cosgriff in Cedar County. She was educated at the Immaculate Conception Academy and the Davenport Teachers' Training school. She taught school in Davenport before her marriage to Norbert Urban Crock on June 29, 1927. They farmed for many years, moving from the rural community of Clarence to Mechanicsville to retire in 1956. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and guild and of the Harmony Point aid.

She is survived by a son, Edward N. Crock, Clarence; 2 daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Genevieve) Platner, Mechanicville and Mrs. Orva (Adeline) Phillis, Pilot Mound; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Otto, Davenport and 10 grandchildren.

Paul Crock, Mechanicsville; Robert Crock, Cedar Rapids; James and Raymond Crock Jr., Tipton; Donald Crock, Manchester and Herbert Crock, Olin, were pallbearers. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
