Last rites for Leland E. Moore, 62, were held at the West Branch United Methodist church March 3 with the Rev. Roger Tappmeyer officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ralph Howard, Harold Thomas, Harold Kinsey, Marvin Brick, Warren Hayslett and Tom Moore III. Mrs. Leanna Thomas was organist.

Mr. Moore died at his home Feb. 28. He had been hospitalized following a series of heart attacks.

The son of Glenn and Pearl Davidson Moore, he was born at West Branch May 12, 1906 and graduated from West Branch high school in 1925.

He was married to Alice Munday at West Branch June 4, 1929.

For 23 years he owned and operated the Standard Oil station in West Branch. He was employed by the West Branch schools and owned and operated the Hoover cafe for a short time. In recent years, because of ill health, he had been employed part-time as a bookkeeper for Thomas Brothers Skelly Oil company and the west Branch Super Value.

He was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church, Wapsinonoc Lodge No. 381, AF & AM and Juanita chapter of the Order of the Eastern Stars.

He is survived by his wife and 2 daughters, Mrs. Gene (Joyce) Gray, Tipton, and Mrs. Dean (Joan) Gibson, West Branch; 6 grandchildren, Theresa, Sharon, Patricia and Lisa Gray and Cathy and Brian Gibson; 2 sisters, Mrs. Charles (Lucile) Pedersen and Mrs. Alvin (Thelma) Sorensen, Iowa City; 3 nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma.
