Funeral services for Mrs. Louie (Mae) Hansen, 73, a life-time resident of the West Branch area, were held Feb. 28 at Bethany Lutheran church, with the Rev. William Thalacker officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Hansen died Feb. 26 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following a long illness.

The daughter of Julius and Katrina Anderson Madsen, she was born June 16, 1895 in Cedar county and was married to Louie Hansen July 18, 1918 at Mason City.

She was a member of the West Branch Bethany Lutheran church and a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Chesley of West Branch; a daughter, Mrs. Mareda Ewalt of Storm Lake; a sister, Mrs. Amelia Smola of Central City, and 6 grandchildren.

A son and 2 brothers died earlier.
