Funeral services for Viola A. Bauer, 71, Durant will be held today (Feb. 27) at 1:30 p.m. at the Gloria Dei Lutheran church, Durant. The Rev. Carlyle A. Smith will officiate and burial will be in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Bauer died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Feb. 24, following a month's illness.

Mrs. Bauer was born Oct. 1, 1897 at Stockton, the daughter of Henry F. and Amanda Bockwoldt Bierkamp. She was a life resident of the Durant area.

She married Frank Bauer who preceded her in death in 1932. Mrs. Bauer was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church, Durant; the Ladies Aid of the church; and the Pythian Sisters of Durant.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Frances) Larson, Durant; 2 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. William (Eleanor) Quarton, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Jack (Stella) Wrysinski, Beloit, Wisc.
