17 October 1968 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Norman E. Frederick, 75, Tipton, were held Oct. 15 at the Sheets and Son Funeral Home. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Mr. Frederick died Oct. 11 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City.

The Rev. William Wills was in charge of the services. Don Thompson was vocalist and Mrs. Arnold Swan, organist. Pallbearers were Louis and Henry Harden, Carl Bair, Arnold Swan, Lloyd Meyer and Claire Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Young had charge of flowers.

The son of Daniel and Mary Parrott Frederick, he was born Oct. 10, 1893 at Cedar Bluff. He was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. He was married to Alma Herbst who preceded him in death in1959. He was married to Elsie Clemmens Fell Nov. 10, 1963.

A building contractor, he was a lifetime resident of Cedar county. He was preceded in death by his first wife and 3 sisters.

Mr. Frederick is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. O. H. Curtis, Mechanicsville; 2 step-sons, John Fell, Iowa City, and Raymond Fell, Tipton; 2 brothers, Bert and Carl, Tipton; a sister, Mrs. Elmer Howarth, Cedar Raids; 2 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
