Last rites for Mrs. Mildred Shrader, 85, retired West Branch teacher and librarian, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today (May 23) at the West Branch Friends church with the Rev. James Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Shrader died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, May 20.

Mrs. Shrader was born July 27, 1882 near West Branch, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Humphrey Trafford. In 1917 she married George Shrader. He died in 1928.

She formerly was a school teacher and also was a librarian at Enlow Public Library at West Branch for 26 years, retiring 3 years ago. She was a member of the Friends church and Juanita Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. Park Albaugh, West Branch and Mrs. Emily Sutton, Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, Charles Trafford, West Branch, and several nieces and nephews.
