Funeral services for Ralph H. Potter, 72, who had lived at Cedar Manor for approximately a year, were held Jan. 16 at the Dye Funeral home with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was at Rock Island National cemetery Jan. 17. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist.

Mr. Potter died Jan. 13 at Cedar Manor.

The son of John Wesley and Martha Cook Unthank Potter, he was born at New Sharon March 29, 1895 and graduated from Coe college in 1917.

He served as a first lieutenant in the army during World War I and was with the Quartermaster corps at Camp Joseph E. Johnston from April 5 to Dec. 3, 1918.

He lived in Traer in 1919 and then moved to Kansas City. He lived in McConnelsville, Ohio from 1926 until 1929 and was a resident of the Clinton, Bellevue, Dubuque area where he operated a pest control service until he retired because of ill health.

While at Cedar Manor he completed work on several book manuscripts and encouraged others living at the nursing home to write.

He has no immediate survivors.
