Services for Mrs. James Slach, 69, West Branch, were held Jan. 3 at West Branch with burial in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Slach died Sunday at her home.

Bessie Lodr was born Jan. 17, 1899, in Czechoslovakia. She married Mr. Slach in 1926 in Czechoslovakia. They farmed north of West Branch until moving to town in 1951.

She was employed for several years at Currier hall dormitory at the University of Iowa, Iowa City.

Mrs. Slach is survived by her husband; 3 sons, Edwin, Leonard and Arnold, and a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Clark, all of West Branch; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Josephine and Maire; and 3 brothers, Frank, Jaroslav and Karl, all in Czechoslovakia.
