Last rites for George F. Johnson, 73, were held Nov. 29 in the Methodist church in Lisbon, with burial in the Lisbon cemetery. Pallbearers were Oliver Nephew, Willard Light, Lyle Orr, Ed Richert, Howard Mason and Floyd Decious.

Mr. Johnson died Nov. 27, following a heart attack.

The son of Oliver S. and Ethel Yule Johnson, he was born Nov. 7, 1894, 7 1/2 miles northwest of Tipton.

After finishing rural school he attended Tipton high school and Highland Park college in Des Moines. Oct. 7, 1915 he was married to Ruth Arbengast at her family farm home south of Lisbon. After farming a number of years near Tipton and later Lisbon they moved to Lisbon in 1962. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 2 years ago. He sold seed corn for a number of years.

He was a faithful 50-year member of the Methodist church. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau since beginning farming and of the Cedar County Historical society since its founding.

He is survived by his wife Ruth, 2 daughters, Mrs. John (Ethel) Karns and Connie Johnson, 2 grandchildren, Larry and Barbara Karns, all of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Alex, Gibson and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Esther) Nephew, Tipton.
