Funeral services for Samuel Leroy Tuttle, once foreman of the canning factory in Tipton, were held Nov. 14 at Sheets and Son funeral home with burial in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. The Rev. Eugene Miller officiated.

Pallbearers were William Tuttle, Robert McClellan, Merl Carroll, John and Harvey Laucamp and Ernest Werling. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist.

Mr. Tuttle died Nov. 11 in the Jefferson County hospital, Fairfield, following an extended illness.

The son of Harlow M. and Anna Kensinger Tuttle, he was born Nov. 13, 1885 in Davenport and was educated in the rural Scott and Cedar county schools. He was married to Grace L. Spence in Davenport in 1904.

After leaving Tipton 30 years ago he operated a paint store in Fairfield until he retired.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alberta Carroll, Galesburg, Ill., a grandson and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
