Funeral services for Leland B. (Tad) Kent, 64, former Tipton resident, were held Oct. 20 at the Methodist church in Guttenberg with Rev. M. Stanley Ballard officiating. Burial was in Union cemetery at Iowa Falls.

Pallbearers were Goldon Collis, Jack Compton, Don Cramer and Dale Tieden. Honorary pallbearers included Vern Hall, C. R. Sheets, Wayne Miller and Melvin Beifohr.

Mr. Kent died suddenly Oct. 17.

The son of Ralph and Sue Bagley Kent, he was born in Tipton April 21, 1903. He had been a resident of Guttenberg since 1947.

The Kent family operated a restaurant in Tipton for many years. At the time of his death he was a salesman for the Haldy Beauty supply. He had worked for the Iowa State Tax commission.

He is survived by his wife, the former Marvin Collis, whom he married March 16, 1947 and 2 nephews.
