Earl F. Hunter, 65, West Branch, died Oct. 29 at the First State Bank, West Branch, where he was employed.

Services are pending the arrival from Vietnam of one of the Mr. Hunter's sons.

Mr. Hunter was born June 24, 1902 in Story county, the son of Florydon and Maria Kent Hunter. He was married April 3, 1926 in Des Moines to Vivian Griffith. He was a graduate of Iowa State University, Ames. He was employed as a butter maker and creamery manager for many years. He also had farmed part-time in the West Branch area.

He was a member of the board of the West Branch Methodist church, member and past master of Wapsinonoc Lodge 381 and past Worthy Patron of the Juanita Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are his widow; 2 sons, Kenneth, West Branch and Maj. Robert Hunter of Tacoma, Wash., now stationed in VIetnam and 6 grandchildren.
