21 September 1967 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Felix August Monier, 78, were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Sheets and Son Funeral home with the Rev. Clifford Egert officiating. Burial was in Shawver cemetery at Cedar Bluff.

Pallbearers were Earl Baker, George Laucamp, Glen Stout, William Boll, Frank Loomis and Frank Shima. Arnold Zimmer and William Thordsen were honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Reno Droll was organist.

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Drumbarger and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Miller were in charge of flowers.

A memorial mass was celebrated by the Rev. Egert at St. Mary church Tipton Wednesday morning.

Mr. Monier was dead on arrival at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Sept. 17, following a heart attack.

The son of August and Mary Jennett Monier, he was born in Perryville, Mo. and was educated in the rural Perry county schools.

A resident of the Tipton area for 45 years, he retired from farming near Cedar Bluff in 1959. Since then he had lived in Tipton.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Garey Whalen post of the American Legion.

He is survived by 3 brothers, Clarence and Sylvester, both of Perryville, Mo. and Ray, Tipton; and 5 foster grandchildren.
