Memorial services were held for Edna Fawcett,78, of Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, in the Chapel on the Hill Thursday, Sept. 14. Dr. Clarence Thompkins and Dr. Raymond Shipman officiated. Burial was at the Springdale cemetery the same day. Miss Fawcett died Sept. 11 at Fort Dodge.

Miss Fawcett was born on a farm near Springdale, the daughter of Elwood and Sarah Fawcett. After her mother's death in 1923, she went to the Chicago Training school where she took her training to become a Deaconness. She served in churches as a secretary in Saginaw, Mich.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Fort Dodge, Storm Lake and Spencer. She retired in 1958, and moved to Friendship Haven. She was a life long member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include 2 nieces, Mrs. LaMar Wilkerson, West Liberty; Mrs. Alfred Layton, Diablo, Calif.; and a nephew, Ralph Phelps, Evanston, Ill.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
