Services for Mrs. Mary Robinson Hickey, 78, associated with the telephone company in Tipton for more than 50 years, were held at St. Mary church, Tipton Aug. 28, with burial in St. Mary cemetery. The Rev. Clifford Egert was in charge.

Pallbearers were James Macklin, Thomas Sheets, Keith Achey, Henry Lewis, George Sissel and Richard Rogers. Mrs. Reno Droll was organist.

Mrs. Hickey died Aug. 23 at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness.

The daughter of John and Anna Bauman Whalen, she was born in Tipton May 17, 1889 and received her education in the Tipton schools.

She was married to Harry Hickey in Tipton July 29, 1929.

Mrs. Hickey was a telephone operator and later business manager for United Telephone company of Iowa at Tipton for more than 50 years.

She was a member of St. Mary church, and a past president of the auxiliary of the Garey-Whalen unit of the American Legion in Tipton.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Martha Shaffer, Tipton. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
