Last rites for Ira Ernest (Ike) Goodale, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. today (March 2) at the Sheets and Son funeral home with Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion cemetery.

Mr. Goodale died unexpectedly in his home in Rochester Feb. 27.

Pallbearers are Hiram and Orville Long, Ivan, Darrell and Drew Goodale and Verner Williams. Laura Geller is organist. Mr. and Mrs. John Sharpless are in charge of flowers.

The son of Parker J. and Mary Ellen McCraken Goodale, he was born Dec. 3, 1876 in Center township and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county.

He was married to Amy Olive Schell Jan. 25, 1905. She preceded him in death.

He farmed most of his life in the Rochester area, and upon retirement, moved to Rochester. He had been a member of the Mt. Zion church.

He is survived by a son, Ernest, Atalissa, 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 4 sisters, 6 brothers and 3 grandchildren.
