Final rites for Roscoe William Gerber, 71, were held July 12 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Walter Marting officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ernest and Ralph Werling, John Achey, Guy Maurer, Maynard Helmold and Eugene Seitz. Mrs. John Sharpless and Mrs. Eugene Seitz were in charge of flowers.

Dr. Chester Christianson was vocalist and Mrs. Irma Crawford, organist.

Mr. Gerber died July 9 at his home in Tipton following a lingering illness.

The son of John and Elma Beltz Gerber, he was born June 6, 1896 at Guthrie Center and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. He was married to Grace Eiselstein Feb. 1, 1923 in Tipton.

He farmed in the Tipton and Bennett areas until 1959 when he and Mrs. Gerber retired and moved to Tipton.

He is survived by his wife, 2 brothers, John and Harry, both of Tipton and a sister, Mrs. Stella Morgan, Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.
