Final rites for Mrs. Caroline Wendt, 79, were held April 20 at Durant with the Rev. W. R. Garred officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Wendt died April 18 at her home in Durant, following a brief illness. She was born June 16, 1887 at Marcus, Iowa. She had resided in Durant for 23 years.

She was married to John Wendt Dec. 5, 1907, at Lester. Mrs. Wendt was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran church. She and her husband farmed until 1943.

She is survived by a son, Harvey, Walcott; a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Helen) Schnack, Bennett; a brother, Charles of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Her husband died in 1949. Also preceding her in death were 3 brothers.
