Funeral services for Mrs. R. W. Crist, 99, were held at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Stanwood Methodist church. Rev. Gordon Vickery was in charge of the service. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery.

Pallbearers were Woodrow Stock, Dillon Jones, Paul Gadke, Elwood Hansen, Henry Ormsby and Max Coppess. Mrs. Dillon Jones and Mrs. Frieda Stuhr were in charge of the flowers. Mrs. John Swift sang, accompanied by Mrs. Edward Speer.

Mrs. Crist died at her home in Stanwood, Dec. 24, at 7:30 a.m.

Carrie Belle Crist, daughter of Theron E. and Lucindia Porter Averill, was born Sept. 12, 1867, at Wheatland.

She was married to Robert W. Crist in Shelby county, Nov. 4, 1885. Mrs. Crist had lived in Stanwood community for 55 years.

She is survived by her children, Emerson B. Crist, Maquoketa; Harry H. Crist, Stanwood; Mrs. E. W. (Mabel) Sawyer, Clarence; Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Beatty, Graceville, Minn.; Howard W. Crist, Des Moines; Mrs. Vernon R. (Eva) Johnson, Los Altos, Calif.; Lee R. Crist, Walla Walla, Wash.; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. W. Crist, in 1938, and a son, Edwin L. Crist, in 1964 and 2 infants.
