Funeral services for Alvin William Albert, 76, retired farmer, were held at the First Methodist church Jan. 8. The Rev. Eugene Miller officiated. Sheets and Son were in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Marvin McCrosky, Raymond Schnack, Neal Reeve, Austin Ford, Harold Heick and Hans Freese. Mrs. Richard Palmer was vocalist and Mrs. Irma Crawford organist. Mrs. Raymond Schnack, Mrs. Austin Ford and Mrs. Marvin McCrosky were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Albert died Jan. 5 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City after a short illness.

The son of Gustav and Augusta Kreinbring Albert, he was born Nov. 26, 1889 near Clarence and was educated in the rural Cedar county schools. He was married to Ethel Chapman, Jan. 15, 1914.

They farmed until 1945. Mr. Albert had been affiliated with the White Pigeon Insurance company since 1940, and was a past vice-president of the company. He spent his entire life in the Tipton area.

He is survived by his wife, a brother, Arnold, Tipton and a sister, Mrs. William (Augusta) France, Urbana.
