Mrs. Lila Thompson, 77, life resident of the West Branch area, died Dec. 28 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the West Branch Methodist Church, with the Rev. Roger Tappmeyer officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was born at West Branch July 3, 1888, the daughter of Henry and Carrie Kelch Rummells. She married Bruce Thompson Aug. 21, 1948, in Iowa City. He died in 1962.

She was a member of the West Branch Methodist Church and the Birthday club.

Surviving are two brothers, Floyd of West Branch and George of Nichols and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Jones of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Pearl Siler of West Branch and Mrs. Lela Hobbs of Iowa City.
