Funeral services for James E. McSwiggin, 82, life resident of the Wilton Junction community, were held at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at St. Mary's church of Wilton Junction. The Rev. Father Vincent J. Morrisey officiated.
Pallbearers were Leroy McSwiggin, James McSwiggin, Arthur Hickey, Danny Joe Maher, Robert Budelier and Arthur Budelier. Mrs. Robert Brenner was the flower attendant. Interment was at St. Mary's cemetery.
Mr. McSwiggin was a retired farmer.
He was born Jan. 21, 1883 in Wilton Township, the son of James and Mary Murphy McSwiggin. He was married Feb. 11, 1919 at Desota, Mo., to Josephine Kropp., He was a member of St. Mary's church.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Josephine McSwiggin; a son, Francis McSwiggin, Lone Tree; 2 daughters, Mrs. A. W. (Sophia Marie) Clark of Keokuk, and Mrs. Larry (Justina) Nelson, Muscatine; 4 sisters, Mrs. Winifred Conway, Tipton; Mrs. Genevieve Werling, Tipton; Mrs. John Hickey and Mrs. Walter (Emma) Newton, both of Muscatine; and 4 grandchildren.
