Services for Mrs. Edward Jurgens, 85, Bennett, were June 16 at Peace United Church of Christ in Bennett with the Rev. Robert Ahrendt officiating. Interment was in the New Liberty cemetery. Sheets and Son were in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Arnold Paulsen, Dwaine Motz, Edwin Johnson, Jr., Elmer Schlunsen, Gilbert Kardel and Harry Schlunsen. Mrs. Ernest Reidesel was organist and vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Miller, Mrs. Allen Peckenschneider and Ernest Riedesel. Mrs. Lucy Plate, William Rohwedder and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Badtram were in charge of flowers.

Anna May Jurgens, who died at her home in Bennett, June 14, was born in rural Scott county, June 28, 1879, the daughter of Hans and Bertha Ruhser Schlunsen. She was educated in the rural Scott and Cedar county schools and married April 26, 1920, in Ramsey county, Minn. She spent most of her life in the Bennett community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son. Survivors include 4 grandchildren, Mrs. Dwain Motz, Bennett; Mrs. Edwin Johnson, Jr., Eldridge; Mrs. Arnold Paulsen, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Lloyd Palmer, San Diego, Calif., 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
