Funeral services for Henry Freese, 78, Lowden, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden. The Chapman funeral home is in charge.

Mr. Freese died March 8 at a West Branch nursing home.

Mr. Freese was a director of the American Trust and Savings bank, a former city councilman and city marshal and a member of the Zion United Church of Christ where he had worked as custodian for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Paul Boedeker, Wheatland; 2 stepsons, Leroy Scutt, Wheatland, and Kenneth Scutt of Omaha, Nebr.; 3 brothers, Emil, Cedar Rapids; Alfred, Clarence and Herb, Lowden; 2 sisters, Elsie Freese, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Gerald Kemmann, Lowden; 7 grandchildren and 3 brothers.
