Funeral services for Gustave F. Brandt, 84, Durant, were held Dec. 21 at Durant, with burial in the Durant cemetery. Mr. Brandt died Dec. 18 at Mercy hospital in Davenport following an extended illness.

The son of Christopher and Mary Petersen Brandt, he was born on May 19,1879, in Scott county.

He married Minnie Schnoor Dec. 2, 1908, in Davenport. He was a farmer in South Dakota and Cedar county his entire life until retiring in 1949 and moving to Durant.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Johnnie, Durant; 4 daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Mabel) Martens, New Liberty; Mrs. Norma Ramm, Mrs. William (Ella) Schlueter, and Mrs. LeRoy (Arlean) Schlut, all of Durant; a brother Alfred of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Anna Owens of Tipton; 3 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
