Funeral services of Oscar C. Petersen, 66, West Branch, were held Dec. 23 at Iowa City. Mr. Petersen died Dec. 21 at University hospital, Iowa City, after a short illness.

Mr. Petersen was born Sept. 18, 1898, on a farm near West Branch, the son of August and Minnie Christensen Petersen. He attended Elkhorn college near Des Moines. On April 15, 1931, he married Anna Cilek in Iowa City.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Maher of Oasis; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Wright of West Branch and Mrs. George Worrell, Solon; 2 brothers, Henry, Iowa City and Victor, West Branch and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
