Funeral services for Mrs. James Phillips, 38, of Cedar Rapids, a native of Mechanicsville, were held at the First Presbyterian church in Mechanicsville Oct. 29, with the Rev. George Gallaher officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips died Oct. 27 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a long illness.

Cora Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forest Shrope, was born Aug. 28, 1926. She was a graduate of Mechanicsville high school, and attended the University of Iowa and Cedar Rapids Business college.

She was married to James Phillips in Cedar Rapids Nov. 10, 1949. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Jeffrey Scott, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Shrope and 2 sisters, Mrs. Robert Tonne, Anamosa, and Mrs. Don Davidson, Mechanicsville.
