Funeral services for Jessie May Hegarty, 92, were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 6 at the United Church of Christ with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating. The Dye funeral home was in charge.

Pallbearers were Howard Fisher, Harry and Sam Hegarty, Mearl Bixler, Harold Maurer and H. Carroll Center. Jean Schneider was vocalist and Mrs. Norma Christianson was organist. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Miss Hegarty died at her home in Tipton at 5 p.m. Oct. 3 following a brief illness.

The daughter of Robert L. and Martha Jane Hegarty, she was born on a farm in the Harmony Point community south of Clarence. She attended school at Oak Hill and Harmony Point. She was baptized in the United Brethren church when she was 13.

Miss Hegarty joined the Presbyterian church in Tipton in 1906 and was a member of the United Church of Christ at the time of her death.

She moved to Tipton in 1906 with her family and has lived here since that time.

She is survived by a brother, Grant, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
