Funeral services for Edgar Jones Hinton, 74, were held Tuesday at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Carl Kern, Roscoe and Marvin Schilling, Lloyd Dickinson, A. A. Petersen and Homer Achey were pallbearers. Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist and Mrs. Ed Skladzien and Mrs. Velma LaRue were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Hinton died at his home Oct. 11 after a short illness.

The son of Charles and Martha Butler Hinson, he was born May 5, 1890 in Shelbyville, Ill. and was educated in the rural Shelbyville schools. He was married to Mabel Schilling in Tipton Dec. 18, 1926.

He worked as a farm laborer in the Tipton area, moving to Cedar county in 1921. He served in World War I from June, 1918 to July, 1919, as a private in Co. G. 22nd Engineers, at Camp Grant, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Ethel Drain, Oconee, Ill. ad a niece, Mrs. Willie (Dorothy) Williams of Oconee, Ill.
