Final rites for Mrs. Walter (Helen Paulsen) Popp, 62, were held at the Bennett Methodist church Oct. 14, with the Rev. Ray Block officiating. Sheets and Son Funeral home was in charge. Burial was in the New Liberty cemetery.

Pallbearers were Siegried Petersen, Harry Bachus, Rudolph Krummel, Donald Juchter, Sylvan Kleppe and Elmer McQuillen. Mrs. Ray Block was vocalist, with Mrs. Don Weih, organist. The Delta Alpha class was in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Popp died Oct. 12 at University hospital in Iowa City after a lingering illness.

The daughter of Louis and Mary Obrien McChesney, she was born Aug. 25, 1902 at Turtle Lake, Wis. and was educated in the Turtle Lake schools. She was married to Walter Popp at the Bennett Methodist church Nov. 8, 1943.

Mrs. Popp had been a resident of the Bennett community since 1929. She was a member of the Bennett Methodist church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Arnold Paulsen, Cedar Rapids; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dwain (Jaunita) Motz, Bennett; Mrs. Edwin (Elaine) Johnson Jr., Eldridge and Mrs. Lloyd (Marianne) Palmer, San Diego, Calif.; 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
