Walter Spotts Lenker, 76, Muscatine, a native of Cedar county, died July 23 at Muscatine General hospital, following an illness of a few months.

He was born Oct. 2, 1887, the son of A. Milton and Etta Spotts Lenker, in Cedar county.

He lived at Wilton Junction for many years and had been a resident of Muscatine since 1945.

He married Vera M. Kelly, Sept. 1, 1909 at Wilton. He was a member of the Grace Reformed Church, Wilton. He had farmed and was a retired machine operator at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Lenker, at home; a son, Irving D. Lenker, Moscow; a daughter, Mrs. Wilson (Bernice B.) Cromer, Muscatine; 2 sisters, Mrs. Albert (Mabel) Neiaber, Tempe, Ariz., and Mrs. Herman (Blanche) Kretschmar, Wilton; and 6 grandchildren.

Three brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held July 25 with burial at Memorial Park cemetery in Muscatine.
