Paul White McKee, a native of Tipton, who was publisher of the Mt. Clements Daily Monitor-Leader in Michigan and associated with other publications, died June 30 in a Detroit, Mich., hospital. He was 71.

He had undergone abdominal surgery June 11 and had been hospitalized since May 26.

Mr. McKee was born in 1893 in Tipton and served as publisher since the McKee family purchased a newspaper chain of five Macob county weeklies in 1923.

He is survived by a his widow, a daughter, and a son.
