Funeral services for Mrs. Benjamin Kahl, 79, of Durant, were conducted Tuesday, April 7 at Davenport. Officiating was the Rev. Fred Rolf of Rock Island. Burial was in the Blue Grass cemetery.

Mrs. Kahl died April 4, at her home at 604 Third st. in Durant, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Blue Grass, April 30, 1884, the former Harriet S. Preston was married to Mr. Kahl Oct. 14, 1903. The couple farmed near Walcott and later northeast of Davenport, before retiring and moving to Durant in 1952.

Mr. and Mrs. Kahl celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last October.

Surviving are her husband; 2 daughters, Mrs. Roy Seefeldt, Fort Worth, Texas and Mrs. Paul Rehfull, Davenport; 2 sons, Allen, Durant and Harland, Hemet, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Dietz of Walcott and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
