Harold C. Williams, 69, of West Branch died March 6 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following a long illness.
Services were held March 9 in the Springdale Methodist church with the Rev. Charles Haigh officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
Mr. Williams, a retired Cedar county farmer, was born in Tipton Feb. 16, 1895, the son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Cox Williams. He was married in Tipton Dec. 3, 1919, to Gladys Walter.
He was a former member of the Springdale school board and belonged to the Chauncy Butler post of the American Legion and the Methodist church. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Sondergard, a son, Harold, Jr., both of West Branch, and 3 grandchildren.
