W. O. Dodds, 99, last of the 6 children of Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Dodds, a pioneer Cedar county family, died Feb. 15 at Edina, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Dodds and daughters and Beulah Dodds attended the funeral at Edina, Mo.

W. O. Dodds, a native of Cedar county, who was Edina, Missouri's oldest resident, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ralph Arnold. He had been in failing health for some time and ill the last 5 months. He observed his 99th birthday Jan. 23 and had been a resident of Edina more than 40 years.

Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at St. Joseph Catholic church with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.

Mr. Dodds is survived by 4 daughters: Mrs. John (Essie) Kummer, Sr., Hastings, Minn.; Mrs. Frank (Nellie) Kimm, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Lola Szlapka and Mrs. Ralph (Vera) Arnold, Edina; 2 sons, W. C., Edina, and Fred, Port Washington, Wis., 17 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

William Otis Dodds was born Jan. 23, 1865, in Cedar Bluff, the son of D. W. C. and Mary Ann Phillips Dodds. He was married to Margret Lavina Fisher, Jan. 23, 1887, at St. Bridget's church in Iowa City.

They lived the first years of their married life on a farm near Lisbon and later moved to Spring Valley, Minn., where they bought a 360-acre farm.

They and their younger children moved to Edina, Mo., in 1921 and Mr. and Mrs. Dodds celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
