Funeral services for Roy E. Shetler, 82, were held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 11, at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with Gordon Smith in charge.

Mr. Shetler died Feb. 9 at the Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant where he had been a patient for about 10 years.

The son of Simon and Mary Swaggart Shetler, he was born July 9, 1881 at Downey, and spent his life in the Cedar county area, living at Tipton and Rochester. He was a retired farmer and railroad worker.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Marie) Sheets, Cedar Valley, and Mrs. Ernest (Frances) Goodale, Atalissa; a son, Richard, Cedar Valley; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1942, a sister, a brother and 2 children in infancy.
