Funeral services for Alfred (Pete) Von Roden, 64, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden, with the Rev. Robert MacDanel in charge. Burial will be in the Lowden cemetery. Friends may call at the home of his sister, Mrs. Francis Schoff, after 10 a.m. today (Thursday).
Mr. Von Roden died at the home of his sister at 9 a.m. Feb. 11.
The son of Henry and Meta Dreyer Von Roden, he was born Jan. 24, 1900, in Steelville, Ill. In 1907 the family moved to a farm south of Lowden and in 1938, he moved to Lowden.
He never married. He operated the D-X station in Lowden, was a mail carrier for several years and served as night watchman in Lowden for 11 years. He was a member of Zion church.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Francis (Ann) Schoff, Lowden; a brother, Elmer, Cedar Rapids; 2 half brothers, Henry Meyer, Clarence, and Dick Meyer, Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
