Mrs. Vernon J. Gingerich, 48, 513 Second Ave., Eau Claire, Wis., died in Luther hospital, Eau Claire, Jan. 18. Death was due to cancer.
Dorothy Burroughs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Burroughs, Tipton, was born at Springville, Dec. 28, 1915, and was graduated from high school and junior college at Tipton. She received a bachelor of arts degree from State College of Iowa, Cedar Falls, and also attended the University of Iowa.
She taught English and dramatics in the high schools of Burlington, St. Louis, Mo., Salt Lake City, Utah, and Iowa City and at Wisconsin State College until her health failed a year ago. She was also active in amateur theaters and was a member of several players workshops.
She was married to Vernon J. Gingerich in Tipton, June 12, 1942. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Burroughs of Tipton, several uncles, aunts and cousins.
