Ray H. Neeskern, 61, Davenport, former Bennett resident, took his life on Feb. 1 at his home in Davenport. The Scott county medical examiner ruled that he died of a self-inflicted bullet wound. Police were called to the home by neighbors, who then broke down the door and found him dead in a chair.

Mr. Neeskern was born in Bennett, where he lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Neeskern, until they moved to Davenport in 1916. He had been employed by the city of Davenport for the past 26 years.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Neeskern, Davenport and one sister, Mrs. Ollie Willey, Bennett.

Funeral services were held Feb. 5 in Davenport with burial in Fairmont cemetery.
