Funeral services for Sophia Christine Morehead, 104, former Tipton resident were held Feb. 7 at Cedar Rapids.

Born March 15, 1857, in Navarre, Ohio, she first came to Eastern Iowa at the age of 10. She was brought to Tipton to live with relatives after death of her father.

She and her husband lived in Tipton and in Clinton before moving to Cedar Rapids when he became a switchman for the former B.C.R. and N. railroad.

They moved to California after Mr. Morehead's retirement in 1916. Both Mr. Morehead and a son, Arthur, died in California. Mrs. Morehead and another son, Lloyd, returned to Cedar Rapids in 1952.

Surviving are 2 sons, Herbert L. and Lloyd B. Morehead, both of Cedar Rapids, 3 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
