Frank J. Kofron, Sr., 84-year-old retired farmer died at Iowa City Jan. 24 after a year's illness.

Mr. Kofron was born at Bedford, Ohio, Aug. 26, 1877, the son of James and Mary Kofron. He married Rose B. Walta Sept. 22, 1903, at Petersburg, Va.

He was the last survivor of 7 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include the widow; 4 daughters, Mrs. Ed Pendergast, Davenport; Mrs. Robert Brinkman, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Helen Berry and Mrs. Anna Kabela, both of Iowa City; 7 sons, George F. and Robert J., both of Iowa City, Louis J., Olin, Henry A., Atalissa, Charles W., Tipton and John E. and Frank, Jr., both of West Branch; 33 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren preceded Mr. Kofron in death.

Funeral services were Jan. 27 St. Wenceslaus church in Iowa City with burial in Oakland cemetery.
