Mrs. Lena Thiessen, 86, died at her home in Durant Jan. 24, after an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 10, 1875 in Scott county, the daughter of Peter and Margaret Glaser.

Lena Glaser married Gus Thiessen Feb. 11, 1896 at Davenport. The couple farmed south of Stockton for 23 years until their retirement in 1921 when they moved to Durant. Mr. Thiessen died in 1946.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leona Nothdorf, Durant; 2 brothers, Henry and Jens, both of Durant; 3 sisters, Mrs. Amanda Miller, Mankato, Minn., Mrs. Laura Makoben, Durant, and Mrs. Tillie Makoben, Davenport. One grandchild and one great-grandchild born recently, also survive.

Preceding Mrs. Thiessen in death, in addition to her husband, were one son, one daughter, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services were held Jan. 27. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.
