Funeral services for Andrew J. Laing, 60, Lisbon, were held Dec. 18 in the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian church with the Rev. Richard N. Major officiating.

Mr. Laing died at his home in Lisbon Dec. 15, following a long illness.

The son of James and Lila Marker Laing, he was born near Tipton Oct. 23, 1901. He was married to Grace Bumgarner Feb. 6, 1924 in Clarence and the couple established their home on a farm near Tipton.

The Laings farmed in the Mt. Vernon area for 30 years. About a year ago ill health forced him to give up farming and he and Mrs. Laing moved to Lisbon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 children, Mrs. William (Lillian) Kaplan, Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Harold (Jean) Albaugh and Darrell Laing, both of Lisbon; 7 grandchildren, Cliff, Don and David Kaplan, Nancy and Jerry Albaugh and Flora and Barbara Laing; a sister, Mrs. Mary Schroeder, Atalissa, and 6 brothers, James, George, John and Mearl, Tipton; Earl, West Branch and Harold, Clarence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
