12 December 1963 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services were held at Clarence Nov. 20 for Henry Lange, 82, with the Rev. Reginald M. Muhl in charge. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Grand Mound. Mrs. Robert Joslin was organist. Pallbearers were Don Peterman, Henry Ormsby, Frederick Meyer, Willis McGuire, Glen Zerbe and Jack Robinson.

Mr. Lange died Nov. 17 at his home in Stanwood on his 58th wedding anniversary.

Henry John Jacob, the son of John and Marie Landberg Lange, was born Dec. 25, 1881, at Westerderchstrich, Germany. Nov. 17, 1905, he was married to Minnie Schlichting in Germany. They farmed in the Stanwood area and have lived in the Stanwood community for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Arthur, Jacksonville, Fla.; Harry, Mt. Vernon, and John, Tipton, and 5 daughters: Mrs. Ed (Emma) Meyers, Stanwood; Mrs. Sophie Hoffner, Clarence; Mrs. Cliff (Gertrude) Bronson, Palm Springs, Calif.; Mrs. F. R. (Frieda) Hutchinson, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Ray (Doris) Robinson, Oxford.

Also surviving are 2 sisters, one in Germany, and Mrs. Marie Schessar of Davenport; 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons in infancy, one daughter, 4 brothers and a sister.
