Mrs. William (Emma) Toerber, 73, Lowden, died Dec. 6 at the George Rice home, Tipton. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Chapman's Funeral Home in Clarence with the Rev. Robert McDanel in charge. Burial was in the Massillon cemetery.

Mrs. Floyd Hansen and Mrs. Walter Brendes sang. Mrs. Robert Joslin was organist. Pallbearers were Emil Stolte, William Fehling, Chris Hansen, C. W. Paulsen, Charles Gehrls and Vick Mensing.

Mrs. Toerber was born Nov. 7, 1890, near Lowden, her parents being Frederick and Marie Lucht Schlueter. She was educated in the rural schools and spent all of her life, except 16 months she was at the Rice home, in the Lowden vicinity.

She was married Nov. 9, 1913 to William Toerber. They farmed west of Massillon until 1946 when they moved to their home in Lowden. He died July 5, 1960. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Alvena Kruse of Preston, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, a son, Leroy, in infancy, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
