Funeral services for Herman Louis Schlueter, 60, Tipton, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Peace church in Bennett with the Rev. Robert Ahrendt in charge. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Raymond Bachus, Eugene Rohlf, Albert Loeffler, Rudolph Hinrichs, Kenneth Horstmann and Dr. Raymond Reuter. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel, Jr., sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."

Mrs. Eugene Rohlf, Mrs. Raymond Bachus, Mrs. Albert Loeffler and Mrs. Rudolph Hinrichs were in charge of flowers.

The son of Fred and Emma Clasing Schlueter, he was born near Bennett, Sept. 28, 1903, and attended the rural Bennett schools. He was married to Mildred Long at Cedar Rapids April 4, 1931.

They farmed 3 miles northwest of Bennett until 1961 when they moved to Tipton because of his failing health.

Mr. Schlueter was a member of Peace United Church of Christ at Bennett and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, and two children, Gary of Tipton and Mrs. Darrell (Lynet) DeWulf of Bennett, and one grandson. Three sisters, Mrs. Anna Kemmann of Clarence, Mrs. Ida Von Roden of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Mrs. Dick Meyer of Bennett also survive.
