Funeral services for E. J. Cryder, 87, were held in the Bennett Methodist church Oct. 23 with the Rev. Ray Block in charge. Mrs. Ray Block was vocalist and Mrs. Donald Weih, pianst.

Pallbearers were John Hansen, Hoyt Buttolph, Clarence Miller, Clint Pollock, Henry Fulreide and Earl Eggert. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Mr. Cryder died Oct. 20 at a Muscatine rest home after an illness of about a year.

Edie Jacob Cryder, the son of Edward and Clara Mae Templeton Cryder, was born at Bennett June 25, 1876 and spent his life in Cedar county. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Bennett Methodist church.

He is survived by a son, Earl, Davenport; a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Clara) Wilke, Tipton, 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
