Funeral services for Asa Robinson, 80, were held Oct. 3 at Mechanicsville with the Rev. George Gallaher officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Robinson died Sept. 30 in a Cedar Rapids hospital as the result of burns received when his clothing caught fire at his home in Mechanicsville Sept. 19.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Robinson, he was born Aug. 29, 1883, in Jones county and was married to Grace Taylor, Feb. 28, 1906. The couple spent their married life in the Mechanicsville area.

He is survived by a son, Donald, Mechanicsville; 3 grandchildren: Mrs. Joel Banks, Mechanicsville; Mrs. Clarence Curtis, Marion, and Gary Robinson, with the Navy; 5 great-grandchildren and 5 sisters: Mrs. Alice Mershon, Madison, S.D.; Mrs. Ermal Murfield, Brookings, S.D.; Mrs. Ida Miller, Martelle, and Mrs. George Fisher and Mrs. Bertha Vanderbilt, Mechanicsville.
