OBITUARY
Dale Thumma, 94, of Tipton, went home to be with the Lord Sunday Morning, December 1, 2019, while under the care of the Leland Smith Nursing Home, Wilton, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 5, 2019. Burial will follow immediately at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4th from 4-7 pm at Fry Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in his memory and online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Dale was born on February 21, 1925 in Stanwood, Iowa and is the son of George Albert and Luella Alice Burkholder Thumma. Dale served his country in the United States Army by serving in the Korean War. On November 23, 1960 Dale was united in marriage to Frances Scorpil in Tipton. Together they farmed and enjoyed traveling, later in life. Dale was a founding member of the Tipton Bible Church and served his church in many capacities over the years.

Dale is survived by his wife, Frances, son, Steven Scorpil - Tipton; daughters, Patricia (Ron) Dickey - Muscatine, Marilyn (Wayne) Nebergall - Tipton, Kathryn (Leo) Grosjean - Fort Meyers, Florida, Ruth Nebergall - Cedar Rapids, Nancy Smith - Coralville, Carol Tholen - Tipton, and Deborah Latare - Cedar Rapids, 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Helen (Richard) Smith and brother, Robert (Betty) Thumma - Tipton. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Hazel and Jean and 4 brothers, Merle, Glenn, Melvin and Harold Thumma.
