Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Rose, 85, a long-time resident of the Springdale area, who died Sept. 28 at University hospitals in Iowa City after a long illness, were held at the Springdale Methodist church Sept. 30, with the Rev. Charles Haig in charge. Burial was in Pee Dee cemetery, east of Springdale.

Mrs. Rose, the daughter of Francis and Margaret Anna Renwick Purdy, was born in England in 1878. She was married to Louis Rose in Rock Island, Ill., Aug. 7, 1907.

She had lived in the Springdale community for 40 years and was a member of the Springdale Methodist church. She is survived by a brother, Henry Purdy, Kansas City, Mo.
